(NC 6606 3504) Enclosure (NR)
OS 6"map, (1963)

A hut circle, enclosure or possibly a sheepfold discovered during fieldwork.
Visited by OS (E G C) 7 May 1961.

This is a well-preserved robust hut circle of bare stone set on a natural shelf in a northerly-facing hillside It is 12.0m diameter inside a wall whose main width, 1.5m, increases to 3.0m in the sides of a clubbed entrance, now choked with debris, from the west. The wall stands to 0.6m high and composes boulder-slab facing with rubble infill. There are scattered heaps of field clearance round about, but the prevalence of 18/19th century abandoned settlement leaves their origin in doubt. Revised at 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 17 March 1977.
