Full Description

NC64NE 16 683 471.

At NC 6829 4714 and NC 6834 4711, on a SE-facing hillside, are two reduced heather-covered hut circles (A and B respectively). The immediate area is smooth, close cropped in appearance and relatively stone free, suggesting associated cultivation; but no clearance heaps are evident.
'A', on a natural shelf, measures 11.0 by 9.5m internally with an entrance from the South-East on the line of the long axis; the wall stands 0.2m at highest and is spread 1.5 to 2.0m. Within the hut is a curving bank extending from the North-west sector partially enclosing an oval area about 5.0m across.
'B', on a slight spur, remains as an elevated platform 12.0m diameter; in the south periphery is a section at the outer wall face, 3.0m long. There are remains of a wall, composed of large blocks, across the slope down from the huts.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (J M) 12 July 1978.
