(NC 6054 0704) Hut Circle (NR)
OS 1:10,000 map, (1971)

Centred on NC 605 071 is a group of four hut circles (A - D) including the example 'A' discovered by the previous field investigator (OS {W D J}). They are situated on a N-facing hillslope partly covered by birch wood.
'A' is 9.0m in diameter within a wall spread to 2.0m and 0.3m internal height. The wall is largely turf-covered, the interior heather-covered. The simple entrance is in the SE.
'B', adjacent to a stream, is poorly defined and heather-covered. It measures 11.0m E-W by 10.0m N-S within a wall spread to 2.0m and 0.3m high internally.
A short stretch of outer facing blocks are visible in the NW. The simple entrance is in the E. 'C' and 'D' both turf covered, are similar in size being 9.5m E-W by 9.0m internally. 'D' is the better preserved the wall spread to 3.0m and 0.4m internal height. Each has a simple entrance in the E. Scattered clearance heaps lie in the vicinity of the huts. No plots are apparent. The ground around 'C' and 'D' appears to have been tilled in fairly recent times.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (W D J) 29 June 1963 and (J B) 7 October 1980.
