Full Description

Enclosures (NR) (one of two shown)
OS 6"map, (1963)

On a rise in an east-facing hillside is an oval enclosure.
Visited by OS (E G C) 9 May 1961.

This is a hut circle. The downslope to the north is stone-free and heather-cropped probably indicating associated cultivation. The hut is 11.5 by 9.5m inside a substantially bare stone wall 0.6m maximum height and 1.4m actual width. The entrance,in the east, is on the line of the longer axis. Two structures, probably lambing pens, have been roughly built into the hut wall in the west and in the south. Abutting the hut exterior in the NE is a rectangular footing, 6.0m NE-SW by 5.0m, of uncertain nature.
Revised at 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 13 April 1977.
