Full Description
NC53SE 6 5643 3249.
NC 5643 3249. On the W bank of the Allt Lochan Tairbh are the remains of two shielings. The northernmost is rectangular in shape and measures 7.0m by 3.5m, the walls being 0.4m high. The other, of cruder construction, is subrectangular in shape and measures 3.5m by 4.5m, the walls being 0.3m high on average. No other foundations or banks were seen in this area.

Two unroofed shieling-huts are shown on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet liii), and are similarly depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1963).
