NC 534 360. The footings of about ten rectangular buildings with associated enclosures and field banks. The foundations vary from 5.m by 3.m to 20.m by 3.m.

A minor, deserted township, as described, which overlies a settlement of hut circles and a field system (see NC53NW 2). No name is known locally, but this is probably the predecessor of the present 'Mudale'. Visited by OS (NKB) 17 July 1980

This settlement is marked on modern OS to the NE of the surviving Mudale Farm, it shows the hut circles/field systems as lying to the W of this area and to the S, needs checking. NB ref to chapel on diff GR - NC53NW0003 - HAW 11/2003
