Full Description

NC51SE 56 5547 1338

On the fence-line due N of hut-circle '2' (NC51SE 9) is a burnt mound. It is probably penannular, although its E end is buried beneath the peat, and it measures 8.1m from N to S by at least 6.5m transversely.
On the N and S it is up to 0.5m high. The open side faces W into a boggy gully. An exposure on the NNW reveals that the mound is composed of small angular stones set in a matrix of brown burnt soil.
Visited by RCAHMS (SH) 12 October 1989.
