Full Description
NC60NW 38 613 059.
Centred at NC 613 059 are two hut circles ('A' and 'B').
Hut 'A' situated on the summit of a ridge, measures approximately 13.5m internal diameter, the E arc having been destroyed by a later wall. The largely turf-covered hut wall exhibits intermittent inner facing stones and is spread 2.0m. - 3.0m and 0.6m high internally. The entrance has presumably been in the destroyed E arc. A bulbous proturberance in the W increases the wall width to 6.0m, but this may be clearance piled against the wall exterior.
'B', set into a S-facing slope, is much obscured by heather. It measures 7.5m ESE-WNW by 5.0m within a wall spread to 2.5m and of uncertain height. The entrance was probably in the ESE.
There is no certain evidence of contemporary cultivation in the vicinity of the two huts. The ground to the W of hut 'A' has been cultivated in more recent times, and linear banks adjacent to 'B' are also later. Surveyed at 1:10,000
Visited by OS (J B) 23 October 1980.
