Full Description
Centred on NC 615 061 are two hut circles (A and B) on a SE-facing hillslope. 'A', turf and heather-covered, is set on a natural rise, and measures 11.5m E-W by 11.0m within a low wall spread to 2.5m and 0.3m high. Occasional inner facing stones on the wall are visible. The simple entrance is in the E. Hut 'B' is built onto a natural hillock and measures 7.5m E-W by 6.0m within a heather-covered wall spread to 2.0m and 0.3m high. The entrance is in the E, and here the wall widens on the N side.
Some 35.0m and 45.0m W of hut 'A' are two platforms on the hillside, with no indication of a back scarp at either location. They are possibly the remains of hut stances or similar, but equally likely natural features. Approximately two hectares of widely scattered clearance heaps occur in the vicinity of the huts. No plots are evident.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 20 October 1980.
