Full Description

NC60NW 34 615 052.

At NC 615 052 on a N-facing shelf are a group of about eight small clearance heaps scattered over half a hectare. No measurable cultivation plots or associated hut circles are evident.
Visited by OS (J B) 13 October 1980.

A desk based assessment and rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out at Torroble, Lairg by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1999.

Site 10: At the time of the present visit this site was covered in long heather up to 0.5m high and though the heaps could be vaguely identified, no stones or other features were seen. Recommendation: This area should be excluded from planting and contractors should be instructed not to drive vehicles over this site.<1>
