Full Description
NC60NW 33 6199 0623.
At NC 6199 0623 beside a burn is a horseshoe-shaped burnt mound, measuring 9.0m NE-SW by 6.5m, and 1.0m high. The NW side is open to the burn. The mound is thickly covered by peat and heather and no indication of its content is revealed. Though it is some 250m from the nearest known settlement, its position, shape and size leave little doubt that it is a burnt mound.
Surveyed at 1:10,000 Visited by OS (J B) 7 October 1980.
