Full Description

During field investigation three enclosures or hut circles were discovered and surveyed at 1:2500.

At NC 593 074 on a low rise amidst marshy ground is a settlement of three roughly similar huts (A-C), noted in the previous field report, within an associated minor field system. The huts vary from 8.5m to 12.0m internal diameter within tumbled stone walls spread to 3.0m broad, and surviving to 0.3m maximum height. All the huts are mutilated, and details of construction are obscured; the entrances where visible are in the S and SE arcs. The field system occupies about three hectares and is comprised of widely scattered stone clearance heaps with no measurable plots visible. Parts of the system are overlaid by later cultivation including run-rig and larger clearance heaps up to 10.0m in diameter.
