Full Description

At NC 7195 0615, on an east-facing hillside, is a hut circle. A few stony heaps in the vicinity denote associated land-use. The hut, set into the slope and peat-covered, measures 10.5m diameter within a wall up to 0.5m high and 2.5m broad expanding to 3.5m in the sides of the entrance which is in the SE.
Springing from inside of SE arc is a later hut circle 5m diameter within a heather covered wall 1.2m broad and 0.2m high. The entrance is common to both huts.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J M) 19 May 1981.

This two-phase hut-circle is levelled into a small spur on E flank of Cnoc Dubh. The earlier hut-circle comprises a platform measuring 10.8m from N to S by 10.5m transversely within an earthen bank spread to 2.6m in thickness and 0.6m in height. The later hut-circle is set within the S half of the earlier structure and measures 5m in diameter within a stone-faced bank 1.2m in thickness and 0.4m in height. The entrance, which appears to have been common to both buildings, is on the S. There are several small cairns, measuring up to 3m in diameter and 0.4m in height, in the immediate vicinity of the hut-circle.
