Full Description
NC70NW 19 centred 7272 0985.
A large area of depopulation centred on NC 7272 0985 containing the footings and remains of eighteen buildings, three kilns and associated enclosures. The buildings vary in size from 26m by 4m to 7m by 3.5m with walls up to 0.6m high.
Visited by OS (W D J) 16 April 1964.
No change to the preceeding field report.
Kilns surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J M) 31 March 1981.
A township comprising six unroofed buildings and a system of boundary walls is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcvi). Six unroofed buildings and some boundary walls are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1970).
