Full Description
NC73SW 20 7408 3220.
At NC 7408 3220 situated adjacent to a burn and close by a settlement of hut circles (NC73SW 5) is a horseshoe-shaped burnt mound. It is peat and heather-covered and measures 8.5m overall diameter. The gap in the mound is in the SSW towards the burn. A maximum height of 0.8m is attained on the E side of the mound, which is appreciably higher than the west. A trial dig revealed a content of earth, friable stones and charcoal. Surveyed at 1:10 000.
