Full Description

A stone-walled hut-circle was discovered during field investigation in rising moorland open to the SW.
Set into the top of a rise, it is 13.5m diameter over a partially heather-overgrown wall spread from 2.0-3.0m in which occasional slabs of the outer face are visible; there is an entrance gap in the south.
In the interior and incorporating the west wall is a later circular stone-walled hut. It is apparently slightly levelled into the larger hut and is 8.5m diameter within a wall spread to 2.5m; there is a break in the west which may indicate an entrance.
The walls of both hut circles have been robust. There is appreciably more bare stone in evidence in the smaller, but otherwise it is not noticeably later in appearance.
Contemporary cultivation is indicated by one or two wasted stone clearance heaps nearby and a little linear stone clearance on the slope to the west; to the NW a stretch of an asociated field wall is just visible, overgrown by peat. There are no discernible agrigultural plots. Surveyed at 1:10 560.
