A circular enclosure discovered during fieldwork.
Visited by OS (R D L) 5 May 1964.
On a natural terrace in a SW-facing slope above the ravine of the Black Water is a circular enclosure of drystone construction, measuring 9.4m internal diameter. The wall is 1.8m broad at the entrance in the SSE, but despite this relative thickness, its construction of roughly coursed boulders, 0.8m high, as opposed to stones on edge which usually define the wall face of a hut circle, as well as its fresh appearance, suggest it is fairly modern, perhaps a ruined sheepfold. There is no evidence of cultivation in the vicinity.
