OS 6"map, (1963)
A settlement of three simple hut circles, heather-covered and moderately preserved, found during field investigation in 1961 on SW-sloping moorland.
Visited by OS (W D J) 16 July 1961.
'A' is about 11m NNW-SSW by 9m within a wall spread to 2m. The entrance is in the SSW.
'B' is levelled into the summit of a hillock and measures about 11m north to south by 9m within a wall spread to 2m. An entrance in the south is suggested by two probable portal stones, the easterly now leaning. An annex, 8.5 ENE-WSW by 8m within an overgrown wall spread to about 1.5m abuts the hut on the NNE. The entrance is in the south where the annex wall does not quite close onto the hut.
'C', built up on a slight knoll, has a diameter of about 7.5m, within a wall spread to about 2m. The entrance was probably in the south where an arc of 4.5m has been eroded by soil slip.
Contemporary cultivation is indicated by wasted stone clearance heaps to the south, but no cultivation plots are discernible. Field walls associated with the abandoned 18th-19th century settlement to the SE encroach upon the site.
Visited by OS (J M) 10 December 1975.
