(A: NC 7732 1646, B: NC 7740 1648, C: NC 7731 1637, D: NC 7737 1642) Hut Circles (NR)
OS 6" map, (1963)

A settlement of four simple hut circles discovered during field investigation in 1961 on SW sloping moorland. The huts consist of overgrown rubble banks spread to about 2m and have entrances in the south or SE. The internal diameters are:
'A' 11m N-S by 9.5m transversely.
'B' 9.5m NW-SE by 8m transversely.
'C' 8m and 'D' 4.5m.
There are no obvious signs of contemporary cultivation but the surrounding area is smooth, close-cropped and almost free of stone. This is almost certainly indicative of early cultivation.
Visited by OS (W D J) 16 July 1961 and (J M) 4 December 1975.
