Full Description

NC76SW 35 7249 6189.

At NC 7249 6189, built up on a steep west-facing slope below a frost-shattered cliff, is a sub-circular enclosure. It measures 7.5m N-S by 6.5m E-W within a stone wall, 2.3m wide on the east side, faced on both sides by coarse slabs 0.8m maximum height. The simple entrance is in the south arc. Rocks have tumbled from the cliff above onto the enclosure.
Superficially this feature resembles a hut circle in its size and mode of construction, but the wall displays a certain angularity particularly on the west side of the entrance, and the situation is unusual. Several stone clearance heaps occur 50m to NW
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (N K B) 29 September 1978.
