Full Description
NC76SW 27 7340 6035.
At NC 7340 6035, on edge of flood plain of Clachan Burn, is a horse shoe shaped burnt mound, overgrown with bracken. It measures 7m across and 0.8m high, the open end facing burn to NW. The content of heat stained friable stones is exposed in edge of mound. There is an early modern deserted farmhouse some 10m to east, and a hut circle and associated minor field system (see NC76SW 26) about 40.0m to the south east.
Surveyed at 1:10000. Visited by OS (N K B) 14 February 1978.
