Field survey notes (undated) - SMR file - HAW 11/2003

NC75NW 33 712 591. About 2 dozen field clearance heaps, covering an area some 200m north west-south east by 75m north east-south west were found during field investigation.
Visited by OS (A A) 14 July 1971.

Among this group of clearance heaps there is a vague, heather-covered, sub rectangular feature at NC 7120 5912 measuring overall 8.6m north west-south east by 6.4m and 0.6m high. Generally it gives the impression of a platform and superficially appears to comprise a fortuitous arrange- ment of three clearance heaps joined by bands of rubble. This pattern is unusual and there may have been a structure subsequently overlaid by clearance.
No plots were noted among the clearance. A small group of clearance lies 350m to the north.
Visited by OS (J B) 31 August 1977.
