Full Description

NC75NW 29 7179 5508.

(NC 7179 5508) An alleged round cairn (RCAHMS 1911), which may in fact be a field clearance heap similar to others nearby.
RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909; Visited by OS (J L D) 3 May 1960.

This is almost certainly a heather covered stone clearance heap situated fairly promenently, but on a slight slope, close by other clearance mounds. It measures 8.0m north-south by 7.0m east-west and stands 1.2m high. The somewhat sharp conical profile, and the composition of stones of varying sizes, contrasts with the adjacent cairns (see NC75NW 15), which are low with a content of similar sized rubble stones.
Visited by OS (N K B) 1 February 1979.
