Full Description
NC72NE 7 7867 2622.
At NC 7867 2622 on the N bank of the Abhainn na Frithe and eroded by it, lies a burnt mound. It is low, turf and heather covered and measures 9.0m E-W by 3.4m with a height of 0.7m. The eroded S side reveals a content of burnt stone and blackened earth. Whether the iron slag immediately to the W (see NC72NE 3) is associated with this mound is open to conjecture. No iron slag was seen in the mound.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J B) 7 March 1977.
