Full Description

Centred at NC 703 587 on a south east facing hillslope is a hut circle and associated field system. The hut at NC 7038 5860 is a vague, poorly preserved example measuring about 5.0m internal diameter. Little more than a semi-circle of walling spread to 1.5m survives, the north arc having been obliterated. The entrance is in the south.
The field system of about 9 hectares lies chiefly to the north and west of the hut. It comprises numerous clearance heaps, occasional wasted walls linear clearance and a few lynchets. A small number of plots of varying sizes were noted. The incidence of clearance heaps is distinctly greater around the hut circle. A recent dry-stone wall with two crude shelter abutting lies at the south east end of the field system. Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 19 September 1977.
