Full Description
NC75NW 66 7167 5938.
At NC 7167 5938, on a shelf in a west facing slope, is a small hut circle within a minor field system. It measures 5.0m in diameter inside a low wall 1.0m wide, in which several inner facing stones are exposed. The indistinct entrance is in the south. Some 15.0m south east of the hut is a U shaped feature about 7.0m north-south by 6.0m east-west, with, about 10.0m to the south, another similar example 5.0m north-south by 4.0m. In each case the centre is dished, open to the south and bounded by a band of rubble stones of varying thickness. Superficially they resemble hut circles, albeit very small examples, but the lack of facing stones, the angularity and variable breadth of "wall", render this classification unlikely, and they are almost certainly robbed or mutilated clearance heaps. Further heaps and one or two low stone walls in the vicinity of the hut represent a contemporary minor field system.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
