OS 1:10,000 map, (1970)
A settlement of three huts ('A'-'C') and an associated minor field system (OS {R D L}).
'A', the best preserved, is 7.1m in diameter within a wall about 1.7m thick formed by an inner face of contiguous stones on edge backed by rubble. On the W side are two earthfast stones 0.7m apart. This may have been the entrance passage leading from an abutting sub-oval annexe measuring 6.0m N-S by 5.5m E-W between centres of a wall 1.0m wide. The character of the annexe is different from the hut and stones from it appear to block the supposed entrance, which suggests it is later.
'B', ill-preserved, is 12.0m in diameter between the centres of a depleted wall. The entrance is in the SW.
'C' is 10.5m in diameter between wall centres. A gap in the WNW may indicate an entrance, but there is a possible entrance blocked by debris in the SW arc. A curving wall subdivides the interior forming an oval area 6m NW-SE by 5m in the SE segment.
Contemporary cultivation is indicated by one or two clearance heaps in the vicinity. There are also some ruinous field walls which seem to be of a similar period but which may be associated with a ruined rectangular building to the N.
Revised at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (R D L) 15 April 1964 and (N K B) 17 November 1975.
