Full Description

(NC 7963 3086) Enclosure (NR).
OS 6"map, (1963)

This is a hut-circle, found during field investigation (OS {EGC}), set in rising moorland open to the north.
It is 12.0m E-W by 10.5m overall. A wall is only apparent in the S arc and that as a low peat-silted spread 1.5m broad; otherwise the hut is delineated by the levelled slight build-up of the base on the slope. An entrance is no longer evident.
The area round the huts is blanketed by peat, and contains numerous mounds, some of which are stony and almost certainly clearance heaps, but others are probably natural. No pattern of fields is discernible. Revised at 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (EGC) 20 May 1961 and (JM) 20 February 1961.
