Full Description

NC70NW 50 7353 0780.

At NC 7353 0780, in sheltered ground on SW flank of Creag Leac nam Fitheach, is a heather-covered hut circle measuring approximately 8.7 by 7.5m within a wall reduced to an obscure spread; a portal stone, 0.7m high, is in the S side of the entrance which is in the SE arc. Close to the hut on the E an arc of banking suggests the remnant of an attached enclosure. There are a number of associated stone clearance heaps nearby.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 Visited by OS (J M) 28 April 1981.

This heather-covered hut-circle is levelled into the back of a small terrace at the base of Creag Leac nam Fitheach. It measures 7.8m from NW to SE by 6.8m transversely within a stony bank spread to 1.6m in thickness and 0.4m in height. The entrance, which lies on the SE, is flanked by expanded wall-terminals, and the SW side of the passage is marked by a large boulder. To the S the leading edge of the terrace is bounded by a rickle of stones, and there is at least one small cairn along the terrace to the W, possibly part of the spread of small cairns on the summit of Creag Leac nam Fitheach (NC 70NW 41).
