Full Description
NC60NW 62 629 098.
Tighcreag: an abandoned early modern farmstead comprising a drystone longhouse, 21m by 4m by 0.9m high, a presumed barn, 9.5m by 4m, and another footing 10m by 4m. Small enclosures and fields of former cultivation also occur. A later, now abandoned, shepherd's house stands 100m to the W.
Visited by OS (JB) 9 December 1980.
A township, comprising three roofed buildings, one partially roofed building and three unroofed buildings, three enclosures and a head-dyke, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcv). One roofed and one unroofed building, an unroofed structure, two enclosures and a length of wall are shown on current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1992).
