Full Description

NC96SW 5 9056 6239.

Centred at NC 9056 6239 on the S side of the Akran Burn are two similar, almost abutting, hut circles (A and B).
'A' is 8.5m NNW-SSE by 7.5m within a low wall spread to 2.0m . A faint depression in the wall in the SSE may indicate the entrance.
'B' is 8.0m NNW-SSE by 6.5m within a wall similar to that of 'A'. No entrance is visible. The interior of 'B' appears slightly depressed, possibly the result of peat cutting.
A dozen or so clearance heaps indicate contemporary cultivation in the vicinity. No plots were seen, probably due to the deep covering of peat. Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 29 June 1977.
