Full Description
NH69SW 54 6200 9173.
On Bonar Bridge Golf Course is a burnt mound, overgrown with heather and whin. It is horseshoe shaped and measures 11.5m NE-SW by 9.5m and up to 1.3m high. The open side is in the SE; it faces no obvious water source, but the ground is damp and has been ditched in modern times. Where the mound has been eroded, its contents are seen as packed stones, smaller than field clearance, some of which are reddened and friable.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (J B) 1 October 1980.
