Full Description

On the edge of a low escarpment overlooking an eroded stream bed, there is a hut circle, NW arc of which has been destroyed by land-slip, revealing a section of the bank. Examination of the section suggests that the hut was of timber construction supported by a low stone retaining wall backed by an earthen bank, the latter revetted with large boulders on the downhill side. The hut measures 12m in diameter centre to centre of a bank which is spread to c. 3.5m all round. The entrance is in SE.
To S of hut, cleared ground and a few stone clearance heaps suggest contemporary cultiation plots.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (A A) 23 October 1969.

No change. Visited by OS (J B) 9 September 1980.
