EHG6139 - Trial trenching - Riverside Field project, Foyers

An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Servivces in 2023 ahead of the construction of the Riverside Field Project, Foyers. A site visit was carried out in Sept 2023 which confirmed that there were no visible upstanding archaeological remains present at the proposed development site. Eighteen trenches were opened across the proposed development site all of which were archaeologically sterile. In trench 9 a possible pit was sectioned and recorded however, after excavation it was determined to be a natural feature. No archaeological features were found, and no further recommendations were made. <1>
