EHG1220 - Trial trenching - Simpsons Nursery, Beauly
Technique(s)
Organisation
Stuart Farrell
Date
Oct 2004
Description
A trial trenching evaluation was undertaken by S Farrell in 2004 in an area to the west of Beauly prior to a proposed housing development. The work involved investigation of 4507m² or 10% of the development area but revealed no archaeological features or deposits of interest only a number of drainage channels and ditches relating to agricultural development. Although a few sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from one of them, the rest were likely to be 19th century or modern in date. No recommendations for further archaeological work were proposed. <1>
